One of the greatest results of evangelism in the schools and the villages is that we are privileged to be able to plant churches in area where no churches previously existed. We have been able to plant over 30 churches around the country.
In October of 2024, CJMI began working with a pastor in a rural area just outside of Lilongwe. We worked in schools and showed the Jesus Film nightly. CJMI left that pastor with a new set of Jesus Film equipment. In the dry season, he shows the Jesus film a couple of times a week. Even in the rainy season, he tries to show it on the weekends when he can find a day that it is not raining. Between October 2024 and the spring of 2026, that pastor has planted 9 new churches and continues to look for areas without churches to show the Jesus Film.
These new congregations continue to grow. One of the churches regularly has an attendance of over 200 people on Sundays. We keep an open line of communication with these churches and assist them in locating a plot of land on which to build a church building and even try to find assistance in getting roofs when the time comes.
