Q?
If I cannot go, how can I participate?
-
A.
There are a number of ways that a person can participate with Circle J Ministries without leaving the good 'Ol US of A.
- Be a Prayer Warrior. These trips are not physically demanding but can be spiritually draining. We need prayer warriors to lift us up from the time we commit to go until we are back on US soil.
- Be a Financial Supporter. There are many expenses associated with this ministry: (1) There are people, every year, who want to go but cannot because of finances. (2)We give two Bibles at every school we visit. These Bibles cost the equivalent of $10 US. (3) We also give two soccer balls, costing $5 to $7 apiece to each school. (4) We show the Jesus Film every night we are in Malawi. The equipment to show the film costs just under $2,000 per setup. The equipment is left with local pastors who show the film a couple of times every month in our absence. (5) We assist Hope for Widows with sewing machines and Knitting machines.
Prayers and donations are both greatly needed and appreciated.

Q?
Is there an age limit to participate?
-
A.
We have not set a "hard" age limit for participants. We have had students as young as 17. We only ask that anyone younger than 18 be accompanied by at least one parent. Even then, there is additional paperwork required for transit into Malawi. As far as an upper age limit, as long as a person is reasonably fit, he or she should have no problems. The trips are not physically demanding. Physically the toughest thing is the airplane ride there and back. If a person can handle that, they should be fine.

Q?
Do I need to be a “preacher” to go on one of these trips?
-
A.
No. You need only have a willingness to minister the Gospel to a people that are very open to receive it. Before every trip there is training in sharing the Gospel leading up to every trip.

Q?
How often do you go to Malawi?
-
A.
Generally, there are two trips to Malawi every year. The most trips we have made in a year was three. Malawi has a dry season, that runs from May through October, and a rainy season, that runs from November through April. We do not plan any trips to Malawi during the rainy season, as the road become impassable.
Typically, we plan trips to Malawi, leaving the end of May and another trip in either September or October. The trip leaving the end of May is usually a group trip. The September/October trip can be either a group trip or Randall will go alone.
